Mr.
Waldack quotes: too many times, the quality of equipment and the difference
between static and dynamic loads is being neglected and endangers
the production, or worse canbe a cause to serious damage and even injuries.
We have to make the decision makers aware that when something goes wrong
with sound or light it is bad for the show, if anything is wrong with
the rig it can have dramatic results.

Asiarig Co Ltd. was appointed by Verlinde as exclusive regional distributor and
servicing station for the Stagemaker products range. The full range
will be stocked and available for both purchasing or rental through
Asiarig Co Ltd. This complete range of event rigging hoists will be presented
at next PALA show in Bangkok Siam Paragon Exhibition Center.
The Prolyte booth kept to its consistent look that it has maintained in the various exhibitions that it has participated in, the booth attracted interest from visitors. Pictured here in the booth with Menze ven der Sluis is Harold Waldack from Asiarig Co.,Ltd. which was established in Thailand in January. Harold got his first taste of Asia when he was part of the Verlinde team involved with Asian Games in 1998. That sparked his interest in Asia and its potential for rigging expertise. After going to and from he finally established Asiarig, spending most of his time now in Asia. In Thailand he has installed a computerized controller system for hoist in one of the biggest restaurant in Bangkok - Tawahdang German Brewery House. Harold has also been busy lecturing at seminars in the region as he strongly feels that the industry in South-east Asia needs to upgrade its rigging expertise. (Unlike Europe, those involed in rigging in South-east Asia are not certified and most of them learn while being on the job. There has been progress in some countries in South-east Asia in ensuring safety but there is still a long way before the industry can achieve higher standards).
Harold feels that there is a lot of potential in South-east Asia and feels that with better technology being implemented in rigging products, it would be easier to introduce these new technologies to the region.
